About the role



We are seeking motivated and compassionate Band 4 Nursing Associates to join our new Women's Health Hubs (WHH) based within our female surrey prisons. These nurse-led hubs are being developed to provide accessible, trauma-informed and patient-centred care to women in custody, addressing a broad spectrum of women's health needs.



Women in prison often face complex physical and mental health challenges, including higher rates of trauma, self-harm, substance misuse, and reproductive health issues. Young adults and marginalised groups are particularly affected by gaps in consistent health education and support. As part of the WHH team, you will play a crucial role in helping to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes for this population.



We are looking for Nursing Associates who are:



Qualified and registered with the NMC as a Nursing Associate

Passionate about women's health and reducing health inequalities

Able to work within a trauma-informed and person-centred framework

Skilled at engaging with women from diverse backgrounds, including those with complex health and social needs

Confident in delivering health promotion and education sessions

Flexible, compassionate, and committed to teamwork in a challenging environment

Key responsibilities (please see attached Job description for full info on role requirement)



Deliver routine nursing care and health checks in a trauma-informed and sensitive manner

Support screening programmes and reproductive health services including cervical cytology screening and sexual health testing

Facilitate access to a wide range of physical and mental health services

Provide health education sessions, health coaching, promoting health literacy and self-management skills among women in custody

Contribute to the reduction of urgent and emergency interventions through structured, proactive care

Work collaboratively with registered nurses, allied health professionals and partner services to ensure continuity of care
