Job Title: Kitchen Assistant - Nursing Home

Job Purpose:

To support the day-to-day running of the nursing home kitchen by assisting with food preparation, service, and maintaining high standards of hygiene, while also supporting residents with eating and drinking in a respectful and dignified manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences. Support residents with eating and drinking as required, following individual care plans and promoting dignity and independence. Ensure food is served safely, at the correct temperature, and in appropriate portions. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene within the kitchen and dining areas. Assist with washing up, cleaning equipment, and stock rotation. Work collaboratively with nursing, care, and catering staff to ensure a positive mealtime experience for residents. Comply with food safety, infection control, and health and safety policies at all times.

Person Specification (Summary):

Caring, patient, and respectful approach to working with older people. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Basic understanding of food hygiene (training provided). Previous experience in a kitchen or care environment desirable but not essential.

Pay: 12.50 per hour
