NFRS are looking for a registered general nurse to join us in the role of Occupational Health Nurse Advisor. We're looking for someone who's not only clinically skilled, but also compassionate, approachable, and ready to support the employees of the organisation.
Whether you're already working in occupational health or working towards a formal Occupational Health qualification, this role offers a chance to grow, learn, and be part of a proactive and supporting team. You'll be at the heart of supporting our staff to maintain their health, wellbeing and fitness, empowering them to continue doing the vital work they do to make the communities of Nottinghamshire safe.
Key Responsibilities
Join an Occupational Health team, working together to respond to the changing needs of the Service.
Undertake the full remit of supporting and delivery of an occupational health service, including but not limited to other aspects of occupational health and wellbeing not covered below.
Supporting and advising the occupational health technician in ensuring safe clinical practices are being delivered.
Supporting, advising managers and human resources in the implementation of the attendance absence policy.
Delivering a clinical service including health surveillance in helping the organisation in meeting its statutory requirements for Health and Safety.
Clinical advice to and supporting line managers in helping to identity key health, safety and wellbeing issues.
Undertaking pre-employment screening for both uniformed and non-uniformed employees.
Promote and deliver health promotion and education sessions.
To support the occupational health manager in reviewing clinical policies, procedures and guidance.
To support the OH&F team and continued delivery of the service in the OHM absence.
Uphold and embody NFRS's Core Code of Ethics.
Experience/Qualification
Registered General Nurse with the NMC.
Hold or be working towards a formal Occupational Health qualification.
Hold current training in audiometry, spirometry and vision screening. Other training will be supported where required
Have relevant experience in an Occupational Health setting.
Be able to prioritise and organise own workload to meet demand.
Hold awareness of current national Occupational Health challenges and have knowledge of legislation relevant to the post.
Hold a full driving license and be able to travel throughout the county of Nottinghamshire (reasonable adjustments will be made to accommodate suitable candidates with a disability).
