two experienced Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTAs)
to join the
Adult Social Care and Occupational Therapy Team
.
As an OTA, you will work under the supervision of qualified Occupational Therapists to support adults and older people in maintaining independence, safety, and quality of life within their homes and communities. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals passionate about rehabilitation, mobility, and community-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out
functional and mobility assessments
under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
Support the delivery of
equipment and minor adaptations
, ensuring they meet assessed needs.
Provide advice and practical support to service users on the safe use of prescribed equipment.
Contribute to
moving and handling assessments
and risk management plans.
Liaise with housing officers, contractors, and health professionals to facilitate timely service delivery.
Maintain accurate case records and documentation on the council's electronic system.
Monitor and review outcomes with service users and report progress to supervising OTs.
About You
You are an empathetic, proactive professional with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Essential criteria:
Experience working in an occupational therapy or health & social care setting.
Knowledge of adaptive equipment and home safety solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to person-centred care.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and confidentiality.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a local authority or community-based rehabilitation team.
Manual handling or equipment training certification.
