This is a short-term Occupational Therapy post within an adult mental health inpatient ward at the Whiteleaf Centre, where you will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment interventions for the specified service user group. You will carry a complex caseload as a member of the MDT, supervise junior members of the therapy team, support the development of the occupational therapy service provision within the setting and engage in leadership development as part of the role.
What you can add:
Manage a caseload of clients with complex Occupational Therapy needs, using evidence based/client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Routinely provide feedback to the MDT regarding observed occupational performance throughout contact, which inform ongoing assessment and therapeutic intervention.
Work as an effective and supportive member of the MDT, working within local ward policies and supporting core functions of the team delivery, including being part of PEACE interventions.
Provide specialist support and education to service users and carers regarding aspects of occupational therapy e.g. equipment fitting, rehabilitation programmes.
Assess for and prescribe appropriate equipment and aids to enable patients' safety and independence with ADL's giving advice to other staff, families and carers when required.
