Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a Community Mental Health Team has arisen. The successful applicant will work as part of a busy Local Mental Health Team serving the population of Gedling and based in Carlton. Working alongside an established multidisciplinary team with a small group of Occupational Therapists and experienced OT Assistants you will be working to ascertain and enable individuals occupational functioning to help those who are experiencing complex mental health issues to live their best life .



To effectively plan and implement a high-quality Occupational Therapy service with service users referred to the Local Mental Health Team. The post holder will ensure each service user is assessed in relation to their occupational functioning and will work with the individual to identify their plans in relation to their needs to maximise independence in their daily living and occupational performance. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team to use their clinical expertise to participate in the preparation, implementation, and review of plans to aid recovery.



Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is 26.40 (standard) or 54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.



You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of 16 per year applies.

This role requires the individual to assess service users needs, identify effective OT plans and implement them. In order to do this the post holder will need an understanding of the complex needs and treatment approaches relevant to this patient group. You will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of multidisciplinary colleagues and agencies.
