Are you our new

Occupational Therapist (Band 7)

Responsible for working with Prescribers and the Team at Livity Life in

Essex

to ensure that the appropriate equipment is Prescribed for Service users needs?


You will be joining our enthusiastic team in

Chelmsford

who are dedicated to achieving excellent outcomes for the People referred to them from

Essex

County Council as well as local voluntary groups. You will be working directly with the Strategic and Partnership Manager, the Community Health Engagement Officer and the Contract operations manager, as well as the wider operational team and customer service agents. You will work with clinical within Livity Life and will be professionally supervised by the Occupational therapist Clinical Lead.

What you'll be doing




You will be responsible for triaging and undertaking assessment for technology equipment needs of service users with a variety of physical, cognitive, sensory, and learning disabilities within the contracted time frames. Part of your responsibilities will be clear and accurate documentation and management of referral and assessments on the fulfilment system designed for use by Livity Life. You will provide second line support to practitioners where user's needs are complex and support other team members where appropriate to ensure the best possible outcomes for the Service User.


Training potential referrers and speaking at events promoting the use of technology is required.


The role is based at our office in Chelmsford with regular travel to events and service users across Essex as required. Opportunities for national travel to our other contracts and events can be discussed but is not essential.

All about you




We are looking for someone who can work independently as an occupational therapist, and as part of the wider team. Being able to manage own case and workload is more important than previous experience using technology as an intervention, although that would be a definite advantage. The ability to speak confidently at small events is an advantage and full support is given where required. Driver, ability to use Microsoft applications confidently eg powerpoint, excel etc.

You will also hold the following qualifications:



A BSc degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy along with Current HCPC registration Previous experience of working as an Occupational Therapist with patients with long term or deteriorating medical conditions Experience of staff supervision is desirable Previous knowledge of the public sector would be an advantage Current full UK driving licence is essential Previous experience of presenting and training is an advantage
