About the Role
You will play a vital role in the assessment and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions for men with long-term mental health conditions. Working across several established and developing inpatient and residential services in Birmingham, your contribution will directly support patients in achieving their personal goals and moving toward community reintegration.
You will be responsible for:
Delivering a mix of individual and group interventions
Assessing and treating occupational performance in self-care, productivity, and leisure
Managing a caseload and contributing to personalised care plans
Collaborating with OT Assistants, Activity Workers, and the wider MDT
Supporting OT students and contributing to service development
About the Services
You will have the opportunity to work across a range of specialist settings, including:
Long-term rehabilitation units in Handsworth Wood and Edgbaston
A residential step-down service in Erdington
A new high-dependency rehabilitation unit opening soon in Highgate, featuring both high-support and recovery-focused environments
What We're Looking For
Essential:
BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
HCPC registration
Knowledge of OT interventions for inpatient rehabilitation
Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication, time management, and report writing skills
Desirable:
6+ months in a mental health setting
Inpatient rehabilitation and recovery experience
Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Level 2 Food Safety certification
