We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide cover across our four Lancashire based services Bilberry Lodge, Oswald House, Whalley Road and Blackburn Road delivering high-quality, person-centred assessments and interventions.


In this role, you will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex mental health needs in their recovery journey. You'll have the opportunity to be creative in delivering therapeutic activities that promote independence and enhance daily living skills within our specialist residential settings.

What you'll be working:




This role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.


About the Role:




To provide specialist occupational therapy assessment/s and evidence-based interventions for adults with complex and enduring mental health needs. The post holder will work as part of a team to support recovery, promote independence, and facilitate transition to community living. You will assess and address the impact of mental illness on functional and cognitive performance, daily living skills, social participation and integration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:



Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy standardised assessments to inform goal setting and person-centred care planning. Identify the impact of mental health symptoms and cognitive difficulties on occupational performance in self-care, productivity, and leisure. Plan and deliver individualised and group-based interventions to enhance recovery, promote independence, and develop life skills. Evaluate and review interventions in collaboration with residents, colleagues and family and carers as appropriate. Provide specialist OT input into risk assessments and care plans. Support residents to develop coping strategies, daily structure, and routine to facilitate community integration. Utilise outcomes measures to evaluate effectiveness and inform clinical decision making Contribute to assessment of and completion of timely and safe discharges/service transitions Liaise with external clinical teams, health providers and stakeholders Attend and contribute to clinical team meetings Comprehensive clinical record keeping in line with ACG policy, HCPC and OT code of conduct

About you:



HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist Postgraduate experience as an OT (essential) Experience working within a mental health setting (essential) Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills Able to work autonomously across multiple sites Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
