The Green Room Foundation is a charity with a mission to help young people from the age of 11 develop their full potential. This vision has grown into a group of three unique schools dedicated to supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team for between 3 and 5 days per week in term time. The role is split between our sites in Kingsley in Hampshire and our Windsor site. We are focussed on finding the right person and can be flexible with the number of days worked.
This is a great opportunity to become a member of our dynamic, creative fast moving organisation that places a premium on staff wellbeing. When our team feels good, our students benefit and benefitting our students is our collective aim.
Many of the young people attending our alternative settings have experienced significant challenges with mainstream education and may present with social, emotional and mental health needs. The Occupational Therapist will therefore play a vital role in supporting pupils with self-regulation, sensory integration, and the development of daily living skills that enable them to thrive.
Main Responsibilities:
Assessment & Intervention:
Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify pupils' needs and provide occupational therapy
Case Management:
Manage a personal caseload, set and review goals. Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
Collaboration & Training:
Work closely with other therapists, teaching staff and parents to integrate therapy goals into the curriculum and home life.
If you are passionate about providing outstanding occupational therapeutic support and have excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you. You will be working in a friendly alternative education environment, where we value kindness, curiosity and the ability to change, to grow. The ideal candidate will embody these values in their work, helping our students to start a path toward their goals in life.
The successful candidate should have a flexible approach; hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council.
Having experience of working with young people with a range of special educational needs within an educational setting is desirable, however we would also welcome applicants with transferrable skills. An interoception specialism would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will be supported by the therapy team and work within a multidisciplinary school staff team. You will be assessing pupils' needs and providing ongoing occupational therapy interventions.
Creativity and flexibility will be highly valued. Every day in alternative provision is different, and we are looking for an Occupational Therapist who can adapt their approaches to meet the diverse and changing needs of our students, helping them access learning, grow in confidence, and discover their potential.
