Our occupational therapy service covers the South Wales area and beyond, and is increasing year on year.

We are looking for an occupational therapist who want to use the full range of their professional skills and want to work in a busy, exciting business with opportunities and challenges. No two days are the same. We will encourage and support you in professional development to ensure our clients have the best possible service delivery.

JOB PURPOSE



To provide occupational therapy intervention to assess needs, establish goals, monitor and support service users with a variety of needs, to enable them to attain a maximum level of functioning with available resources.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete assessments of service users, and prepare occupational therapy reports based on the service users identified needs. Provide occupational therapy interventions for service users of Steddy Ltd, as and when instructed within the professional skillset of the occupational therapist. Provide advice to service users who may wish to make a purchase from Steddy Ltd. Identify and develop occupational therapy based services for our service users, and assist with the promotion of the same to potential customers. Under direction of training manager, deliver courses appropriate to the skill level and expertise of the post holder. Maintain accurate documentation with regard to all occupational therapy intervention. Use existing office systems and procedures within Steddy Ltd offices, in accordance with the staff handbook, and assist in developing new systems where that would further improve service delivery. Maintain good and professional communication with Steddy Ltd customers, service users and within the staff team. Ensuring that training standards are maintained, and personal professional development goals are met. Career progression expected to Director level

WORK CONTEXT


Steddy Ltd is an inter- disciplinary team based company, which provides services ranging from care and case management services to the installation of stair lifts and bathroom adaptations.

Steddy Ltd engages experienced health care professionals to provide Expert opinions, specialist assessment and intervention, and ongoing case management and specialist care provision. Steddy Ltd also provides a specialist training service to both employees of Steddy Ltd and external organisations.

The post holder will be based in the Steddy Ltd main offices, but will be required to travel to other locations, as directed by the Directors of Steddy Ltd.

PERSON SPECIFICATION


Education, Training and Work Qualifications



Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy

Registration with the Health professions Council

Experience of working within a social or health care setting.

Membership of appropriate professional organisations

Basic understanding of relevant national and local policy and statutory guidance.

Understanding of all related manual handling legislation and good practice guidelines.

Professionally based knowledge of a wide range of disabilities.

Basic working knowledge of the welfare benefit system.

Basic working knowledge of the wider issues relating to the delivery of care and complex packages of care in the community, and within residential and nursing care settings.

Skills and abilities



Able to work collaboratively particularly across organisational boundaries and professional groups.

Ability to manage groups of staff to maximise their overall performance.

Ability to work with other organisations.

Ability to positively represent Steddy Ltd to other organisations.

Good administration with associated IT skills. Demonstrable commitment to

improving practice standards

and personal competences.
