This post is Fixed term/Secondment from 01/12/2025 - 30/11/2026 to meet the needs of the service.
We are offering an exciting 12-month secondment opportunity for a passionate and motivated Band 6 Children's Occupational Therapist who is eager to gain valuable experience or explore a new direction in paediatrics. Based within our small, supportive team at Ysbyty Eryri, Caernarfon, you will work with children and families across Gwynedd and Mn.
This secondment is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about developing their clinical skills, contributing to service improvement, and thriving in a collaborative team environment. We are looking for a therapist who demonstrates excellent communication skills and a commitment to helping children reach their full potential in play, self-care, and education.
Welsh language skills are desirable for this post; however, applications are welcomed from both Welsh and English speakers.
Main duties of the job

  • Support children and young people aged 0-19 with physical and developmental needs to achieve their goals and maximise independence in everyday activities.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to identify meaningful goals and deliver tailored interventions.
  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy input across a range of settings including clinics, schools, and homes throughout Gwynedd and Mn.
  • Maintain high standards of care and safeguarding through effective communication and liaison with all involved agencies.
  • Manage an allocated caseload independently, demonstrating sound clinical reasoning and prioritisation skills.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through supervision, joint working, training, and self-directed learning.
  • Contribute to service development activities such as audits, training delivery, and supporting students and colleagues.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
