Children with Disabilities team are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our small team of specialist therapists. The office base will be in Norwich.
We are looking for an experienced OT with a demonstrable two years of experience of working with children and young people who have long term disabilities and associated learning difficulties.
You will have skill in offering strategies to minimise the impact on family life. Experience of working with ASD and sensory processing would be advantageous.
You will aim to support children and families where the child's behaviour/ sensory needs are substantially impacting on their ability to engage in activities of daily living and/or the demands on family life are substantial. Therapeutic interventions may include sensory, behavioural, communication and attachment theory.
Regular supervision and CPD training opportunities are provided.
The OTs are a valued part of a busy social work team. This post entails carrying out assessments and therapy programmes to maximise the functional skills of young people with complex disabilities within their home. We work predominantly within the child's home but also extend our work to school and respite care settings when required.
