We have some brand-new roles for the Coventry and Warwickshire Mental Health in Schools Teams (MHST).



MHSTs are an early intervention and prevention service that supports the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children, young people and families who are linked to schools and college settings. We are growing rapidly and are in a time of development and expansion as we aim to support 100% of schools by 2029/30.



MHSTs offer three kinds of support:



Individual, 1:1 and small-group targeted interventions for young people with mild-to-moderate mental health needs.

Fostering and developing a whole-school approach to mental well-being in collaboration with key school staff.

Advice, consultation and signposting to schools and other professionals.

To work within The Mental Health in Schools Team , delivering high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions to children and young people (CYP) experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs within educational settings, in line with local and national guidelines.



To actively contribute to a whole-school approach to wellbeing, with a focus on enhancing occupational performance and executive functioning.



Additionally, the post holder will supervise and provide oversight for junior staff delivering OT-based group work and one-to-one interventions, ensuring clinical quality, effectiveness, and consistency across the team.

Manage an OT caseload across education settings.
Conduct functional assessments related to executive functioning impacting on mental health. Implementing an appropriate occupational therapy model and tailored interventions.
Deliver Single Session Therapy (SST) sessions where appropriate.
Contribute to the Whole School Approach, including workshops, group sessions, and wellbeing assemblies.
Provide consultation and advice to educational staff.
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to outcome monitoring.
Participate in clinical supervision and professional development.
Engage in service evaluation and quality improvement projects.
Supervise junior staff or students when appropriate.
