Job Description

Our Occupational Therapy Service has recently been redesigned with the aim of creating a more sustainable workforce not only better equipped to manage the complex needs of our patient's, but to also allow experienced therapists an opportunity to develop their specialist role.



The ideal candidate will have a passion for Occupational Therapy within the specialist field of end of life and palliative care. You will have excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for your speciality area and the ability to work autonomously and as a part of the wider team.



You will work closely with the General Medicine and Frailty Teams supporting across those areas as needed. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of Occupational Therapy intervention ;- assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the service, including patients who have varying presentations and complex physical, social and psychological conditions.



A flexible and adaptable approach will be necessary to ensure delivery of an excellent OT service across all pathways.

To provide specialist occupational therapy interventions using an evidence based, flexible and patient-centred approach, working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team to meet the health and social care needs of people who are referred to our services.



To perform a specialist occupational therapy role for patients referred to the post holder's clinical team with complex health and social care needs.



To provide supervision and leadership for relevant junior members of occupational therapy staff in conjunction with the team leader.



To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated specialist team.



To provide supervision and training for students on practice placement
