To provide high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services to adults within the community, supporting them to live as independently as possible. You will assess, plan, and implement interventions for adults with a variety of needs, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Care Act 2014. This role also includes working collaboratively with a range of professionals across health and social care and may involve supervisory responsibilities depending on grade.
Essential Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
Substantial post-qualifying experience in adult services
Experience in needs assessments and developing care/support plans
Knowledge of relevant services and community resources
Experience working jointly with health and external agencies
(Higher grade) Best Interest Assessor qualification or willingness to undertake training
(Higher grade) Experience in supervision and performance management of staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and other related legislation
Understanding of the impact of disability, race, gender, and culture on health and wellbeing
Excellent written and verbal communication, including IT and report writing skills
Ability to negotiate and advocate effectively on behalf of service users
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Competence in using case management systems (e.g., LAS), Microsoft Office, and digital tools
Ability to maintain accurate records that meet legal standards
Good understanding of health and safety regulations in social care
Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise professional judgment
