With a competitive salary, generous leave, a fantastic pension scheme, and the flexibility of hybrid working, we want you to thrive in your role with us.About the Role:We have a full-time (37 hours/week) opportunity available in our Whole Life Disability Occupational Therapy Team, working with disabled children and young adults (0-19). You'll be helping children gain independence and improve their quality of life through the provision of equipment and adaptations, while providing child and family centred assessments and developing tailored intervention plans.As an Occupational Therapist here, you'll:

  • Conduct holistic, child and family centred assessments to identify needs and create tailored intervention plans.
  • Work flexibly and creatively to implement culturally appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver the best outcomes for those you support.
  • Keep clear and evidence-based records of your work in line with our department standards.
  • Contribute to child review meetings, safeguarding discussions, and work with a variety of partners.
  • Have access to a Career Progression Pathway Framework which enables Occupational Therapists to progress up to level 4, without the requirement for vacancies to become available.
We offer additional training in areas like moving and handling, postural management, and designing environments for children with home safety, behavioural and sensory needs.You'll be joining a well-established, friendly, and supportive team that values collaboration and development. We offer monthly supervision, regular team meetings, twice annual team development days and plenty of opportunities for CPD, peer support and learning.

About You:We're looking for someone who has:
  • A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience of working with children as an Occupational Therapist in a Local Authority setting.
  • A solid understanding of the Social Model of Disability, equipment, and adaptations to promote independence.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including safeguarding issues.
  • A passion for making a difference and a commitment to delivering child-centred care.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your time, and stay organised.
