Job Details






The role is within the Community Occupational Therapy Leven Team based at Carberry House, Leven. You will be working with adults and older people within their home environments. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload within service performance requirements. You will be required to carry out person centred assessments and identify appropriate intervention to meet individual outcomes around managing risk, improving occupational performance and maximising independence. A key deliverable of this post is to support people to engage and participate in meaningful activities of daily living, facilitate improved health and well-being. You will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and be a highly motivated and reflective practitioner with excellent communication skills. Completion of accurate and comprehensive recording is essential.

The service is committed to performance management and has a comprehensive Clinical Governance programme and

objectives which are reflective of local and national priorities.

You will be joining our supportive and innovative service that operates a robust clinical supervision model and has staff well-being at the heart of its culture. Reflective practice and effective decision making are embedded within the service and daily practice

Loan working is intrinsic to the role. There is flexibility for some work to be carried out at home.

The Person



You must have a qualification, either degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and be registered as an Occupational Therapist with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).


Experience of working with older people and/or adults with disabilities


Skills in assessment of need and risk are essential, as is the ability to work using a person-centred approach


Excellent communication skills and evidence of capacity to use clinical reasoning to; make independent decisions; accept responsibility for actions and use initiative within parameters of responsibility.


Experience and skills in effective multi-disciplinary team working.


Ability to use computer-based systems and maintain comprehensive client recording and documentation.


You must be able to travel to work with service users in their home environments
.




Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
