An opportunity has arisen for a part time band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Therapies Department at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital which has been twice rated as Outstanding by CQC. The post is contracted as 28 hours per week working Tuesday to Friday.
You will work as an integral member of the therapies team and wider MDT, assessing and treating in-patient cardio-thoracic patients across the medical and surgical wards and critical care providing rehabilitation to facilitate safe and timely discharge.
The successful post holder will undertake individualised assessment and implement treatment programmes, which includes complex rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation to patients across the critical care unit and the wards. You will work closely with the therapy teams including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and dietetics, as well as the wider MDT in order to provide individualised assessment and treatment programmes for post-operative patients and patients with long standing cardio-thoracic conditions. You will have a experience within stroke/complex rehabilitation and a desire to work within cardiothoracic care. The post holder will need to be a strong communicator, keen team player and be motivated to drive change forward.
