In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions to support adults with various needs and long-term conditions, to enable people to live at home longer and to take charge of their life.

The emphasis is on early intervention and prevention. You will work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to deliver holistic assessments and improve the quality of life for the people of Peterborough.

Independent, well-reasoned judgement and decision making skills are important for this job, as you will be working towards increasing your level of responsibility and challenge as an autonomous practitioner, supported by an OT supervisor and a daily senior OT on duty to assist in complex cases. You would also be expected to supervise junior therapy staff and support them in their development.

Continuing Professional Development is given as protected time and there are further opportunities for training. Training will also be provided from the wealth of knowledge and expertise within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of people's physical, emotional, and social needs. Develop and implement individualised goal setting to promote independence and improve quality of life. Provide therapeutic interventions, including activities of daily living, mobility, and cognitive rehabilitation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and support. Monitor and evaluate a person's progress, adjusting goals setting as necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, goal setting, and progress. Educate people and their families about occupational therapy techniques and strategies.

This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply. Candidates will be progressed shortly after they apply, and the opportunity will be filled as soon as we identify a suitable candidate, which may be before the closing date. So please don't hesitate, apply today.

You are committed to continuous professional development and are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others.

You will require empathy, motivation and you will need excellent communication skills at all times.
