To help us achieve this, we are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapists within our Occupational Therapy service
About the role
The post is part of our Occupational Therapy team within our Living and Ageing Well service working to deliver an occupational therapy service within adult social care.
The remit of the Occupational Therapy team includes provision of equipment and minor adaptations to support independence, moving and handling, support wellbeing and prevention and signposting to other community services.
You will work with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure a high quality, responsive and professional social care occupational therapy service leading to positive outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
Main duties, tasks & skills required.
To complete occupational therapy assessments in relation to adults' personal independence and occupations, in accordance with current legislation and in conjunction with other team members or professional workers.* To advise and, where possible, teach methods of carrying out daily activities to help individuals overcome a disability and promote independent living.
To recommend and provide, where appropriate, standard, specialised and moving and handling equipment and give guidance to clients and their carers in its use.
To recommend and advise on the provision of simple and complex structural adaptations to clients' homes, liaising with other agencies to facilitate this work.
To provide advice, information, and guidance on other services available from social services and other agencies.
To communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, to maintain written and electronic records in accordance with Directorate policies and to be aware of the Directorate's 'Access to Records' policy.
To promote the Occupational Therapy service to users, colleagues, and other agencies and to identify and contribute to future service developments.
To work closely with colleagues in health care teams, private and voluntary sectors, and other directorates, to achieve the best possible outcome for clients and their carers.

The successful applicant must:
Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills within the multi-disciplinary team.
Be able to justify their clinical decision making.
Have the ability to plan, prioritise and time manage appropriately.

Salary:
The salary band for this role is 41,771 - 46,141. The
starting salary is 41,771
with annual progression through the salary bands.
