We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join team proving in person home based support to ETOAS training 1: 1 tutor to support a young child. There will ne further clients potentially. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate expertise in various therapeutic techniques. This role is essential in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programmes. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, particularly in critical care settings.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs to develop individualised treatment plans.
Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and daily living skills.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, nurses, and case managers, to ensure holistic patient care.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment goals and strategies for home care.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with medical standards.
Stay informed about advancements in occupational therapy practices, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medical imaging.
Requirements
A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
Valid registration with the relevant professional body.
Experience in critical care, hospital settings, or ICU preferred.
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques is advantageous.
Familiarity with case management practices is beneficial.
Experience working with paediatric patients is a plus.
Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to patient rehabilitation.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
