We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team working with service users experiencing acute functional mental illness. This exciting opportunity is based at Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, St Michael's Hospital, Warwick, covering the Willowvale (Female Treatment) and Larches (Male Treatment) wards. The successful candidate will have a broad skill set in assessing and treating occupational needs, contributing to differential diagnosis, facilitating acute recovery, and supporting timely discharge planning. You will also take on a key role in supervising and supporting a Band 5 OT and Activity Coordinators attached to these wards.

The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary, age-independent, 24/7 acute inpatient Psychiatric Physical Complexity Pathway (PPCU), which provides specialised care for patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises alongside complex physical health needs related to aging or illness. This is a rewarding role that offers the chance to lead the delivery and evaluation of occupational therapy services, contribute to the therapeutic environment, and actively engage with carers and the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care. Flexibility and a commitment to service development are vital in meeting the needs of this unique patient group.

What you can add:

Lead the delivery and evaluation of effective occupational therapy service delivery with our PPCU wards. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the therapeutic environment within the PPCU Pathway Wards. Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs. Deliver relevant evidence based pathway interventions. Engage with carers and significant others in response to identified needs. Contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of ward and pathway activity interventions.
What you'll need:

Enhanced DBS OT Professional Qualification and HCPC registration Evidence of continuing professional development Must have full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle for business use Substantial OT experience in Acute Mental health care setting Significant experience of undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and positive risk management Proven experience of people management, leadership and supervisory skills
