Reablement Team



Hours: 37 Hours per Week




We have a fabulous opportunity for two Occupational Therapists to join our evolving Reablement Team within Adult Social Care. These are new positions.


We offer the opportunity to develop your Occupational Therapy skills within a developing, innovating and supportive team. Whether you are just qualifying, stepping into Adult Social Care for the first time or have previous experience of Reablement we would like to hear from you.


We are a dynamic multi-disciplinary service playing an important role in delivering on Solihull's Adult Social Care offer to prevent and reduce dependence on care and support services. We consist of an Occupational Therapist Team Manager, Social Workers, Social Care Facilitators, Occupational Therapists and an Occupational Therapy Assistant working with partner care agencies and our inhouse specialist registered provider. We support people to regain their independence at home, reduce their packages of care and achieve a good quality of life by achieving their goals. The service is for Solihull residents aged 18 and above. We are seeking creative Occupational Therapists to help us grow this service to meet raising demands and embrace new ways of working for successful outcomes.


As part of a team of Occupational Therapists you will be responsible for contributing to Reablement Plans, preparing Therapy Plans, assessing for Equipment of Daily Living, Moving and Handling assessments and plans and working with both Reablement and long-term care staff to demonstrate optimum ways of working to promote independence, dignity, choice and people's personal life choices.


Solihull offer you regular supervision; one to one and peer, continuous professional development and opportunities to shadow and work with OT's and other professionals. We encourage our OT's to take students and regularly participate in projects to promote the profession, the service and wider council services. We are innovative and currently introducing use of AI to support staff recording assessments etc.

To be successful in this role you will have:

A Diploma or BSc (or WFOT equivalent) in Occupational Therapy Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration Awareness of current relevant legislation Good communication skills. Awareness of assistive technology, technology enabled care and current IT systems. Understanding of the provision of daily living equipment, and environmental adaptations and supporting people with moving and handling needs.

You will also hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle as this is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job. For disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
