About the Service

Broomhill Hospital is a specialist, independent mental health facility located in a tranquil, purpose-built setting. We provide expert care and support for up to 99 individuals with complex mental health needs across both acute and high-dependency rehabilitation units.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated

Occupational Therapy Assistant

to support adults with mental health needs. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to enhance patients' cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being through therapeutic activities and assessments.

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine desire to provide person-centred care and develop their skills within a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery. Build therapeutic relationships, encouraging patient participation in activities. Conduct targeted occupational performance assessments with supervision. Engage patients in creative and therapeutic activities. Communicate sensitively and confidentially with patients and families. Assist in risk management and promote social inclusion. Respect individual values, culture, and diversity. Take responsibility for specialized therapy activities and support program evaluation. Adhere to professional guidelines and legislation.

About You

Previous experience working in inpatient mental health settings. Proven ability to document accurately and maintain clear records. Compassionate, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
