Althea Park House is looking for a Occupational Therapy Assistant to join their team. The role is full-time working 37.5 hours per week.



Althea Park House is a residential home in Stroud, Gloucestershire providing care and treatment for young people and adults with an eating disorder

What you'll be doing





The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) post sits within our Therapies Team; Line managed by the Therapies Team Lead, with clinical supervision and support from our Occupational Therapist. The OTA role is primarily concerned with supporting our residents meet their occupational needs with a focus on their educational, vocational and independent life skills needs. This work involves working one-to-one with our residents, co-facilitating group work and liaising closely with the care team and the educational providers for each resident. This includes effectively assessing, monitoring and reviewing the treatment in relation to occupational therapy interventions and engagement under the guidance and support of the Occupational Therapist, and adhering to specific OT intervention/care plans.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate genuine commitment and enthusiasm for working with this client group. The post holder also needs excellent organisational capability, flexibility and a strong 'can do' attitude. Work experience within a mental health environment/professional caring situation would be helpful. Informal visits to our homes are encouraged.
