An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (37.5 hours) occupational therapy support worker to work on the inpatient acute mental health unit, St Cadoc's Hospital. The Occupational Therapy team consists of a Band 7 and Band 5 rotational Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapy support worker will:
Undertake specific skilled occupational therapy support work such as carrying out assessments
Plan and implement interventions on a 1:1 a basis and facilitate groups, using various treatment skills and to monitor progress and evaluate the outcome under supervision from the team
The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing Occupational Therapy interventions under the direction of a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT).
OT's work with individuals to establish the impact of their mental health needs on their day to day functioning. They devise person-centred plans for intervention (group and one to one including facilitation of the 'discovery through activity' OT programme) with the individual to further assess, improve or maintain their functional ability.
Interventions offered on the ward and in the community aim to address an individual goals in line with recovery based practice.
