Both sites are hubs for local businesses and community activity, and the Front of House team plays a key role in creating a positive and professional first impression for all visitors and occupiers.

Role purpose



As FOH Building Host, you'll deliver excellent customer service to occupiers and visitors, manage the front desk, and support daily building operations. Acting as the "eyes and ears" on-site, you'll assist the Facilities team, report issues, and help maintain a smooth, welcoming environment.

The role includes light physical tasks like setting up meeting rooms (moving chairs/tables) and regular use of stairs. You'll also support community engagement by helping deliver events and activities that enhance the occupier experience.

Key responsibilities



Provide a warm, professional welcome to all occupiers, visitors, and stakeholders. Manage front desk operations to ensure consistent, high-quality service. Build strong relationships with occupiers, service partners, and client teams, encouraging clear two-way communication. Act as the main point of contact on-site, staying informed about the building, its operations, and occupiers including the Facilities Management Co-Ordinator (who isn't on site every day). Always keep the front desk area presentable and professional. Support the rollout of new training and technologies to enhance service delivery. Respond promptly to occupier requests or issues, resolving or escalating as needed. Manage post and courier deliveries efficiently. Identify and report building issues, following through using the appropriate systems and following them through to completely via the relevant project lists/FM package. Liaise with contractors and engineers, maintain progress logs, and manage access. Support property viewings and marketing activities. Set up meeting rooms (light furniture moving required) and ensure readiness. Use stairs regularly as part of daily duties across both buildings.

Community and Engagement



Develop strong knowledge of the local area and create a guide to nearby amenities. Plan and support initiatives (e.g., pop-ups, competitions) to enhance occupier experience. Engage with the local community to explore beneficial partnerships and event opportunities. Keep occupiers informed through newsletters, emails, and digital app updates. Track and report on engagement activities to ensure continuous improvement.

Required knowledge, skills, experience, and behaviours



Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure. Confident building relationships with stakeholders and supporting occupiers effectively. Eager to learn about building operations and act as an informed point of contact. Proficient with standard office software and able to learn site-specific systems (e.g., Nexudus, Sky Visitor, Net2). Good written English for newsletters, email updates, and digital communications. Comfortable with light manual tasks (e.g., moving furniture) and using stairs daily. Team player with a proactive, service-driven approach and commitment to improvement. Willing to train as a Fire Warden and Emergency First Aider and complete other role-relevant training.

The contract is 20 - 25 hours per week, working Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays with shift pattern 08:00 - 13:00 and 13:00 - 18:00. There is the opportunity to work overtime subject to operational demand across both Hart House Business Centre and Morton House
