Congleton Garden Machinery, founded in 1989, is a well-established and expanding retail business headquartered in Congleton, Cheshire. Internationally recognised for selling and hiring out horticultural, farming, forestry, equestrian, construction and all-terrain vehicle equipment and parts.

The Role:



We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Administrator to support the smooth day-to-day running of the business across reception, customer service, sales support, stock administration, and internal systems.

This is a varied, hands-on role that plays a key part in keeping operations efficient, accurate, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities:



Answer incoming calls, taking messages for team members and transferring calls effectively. Handle payments in person and over the phone, taking ownership of enquiries where possible Support customer deliveries by coordinating couriers, tracking orders, and managing paperwork Maintain showroom administration including pricing, brochures, point-of-sale materials, and promotional items Support sales activity by raising invoices, updating supplier price lists, and assisting during peak periods Manage machine and vehicle administration including stock booking, registrations, warranties, and DVLA paperwork Coordinate stock replenishment and communicate delivery schedules internally Maintain internal systems including filing, shared drives, access rights, documentation, and GDPR records Support workshop and parts administration, including job cards, timesheets, stock updates, and system accuracy Assist with hire administration, ensuring paperwork, pricing, and job cards are completed correctly Carry out stock takes for vehicles and parts alongside the wider team Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost control across administrative processes

A Successful Candidate Will Have:



Qualification related to business administration Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Confidence handling phone calls, customer enquiries, and payments professionally Good IT skills and the ability to work across multiple systems and spreadsheets A proactive, reliable, and methodical approach to work Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with multiple departments The ability to manage changing priorities in a busy environment A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take ownership of tasks
