About Our Business
We are a well-established and dynamic business, comprising building renovation work on period and listed buildings as well as purpose made joinery. We are known for delivering quality craftsmanship and professional service. We are seeking a reliable, motivated and professional Office Administrator to support the 2 Directors and the smooth running of the administrative and finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain purchase and sales invoices, noting due dates and payment status.
- The successful candidate must be familiar with Dext and Sage software, etc.
- Collate financial data for VAT reporting and liaise with external accountants.
- Assist in managing CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) obligations, including tax deductions and payment amounts due to HMRC.
- Maintain up-to-date records of the jobs in progress, tracking their current status and all required documentation.
- Maintaining the office diary
- To assist the directors with collating all industry accreditation compliance, CHAS, FENSA and BWF etc.
- Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, email correspondence, document organisation and creating folders of images of works undertaken.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with customers, suppliers, contractors.
- Support wider monitoring of job progress and keeping contacts informed when necessary.
- Managing and ordering office and sundry supplies for the office and staff welfare.
Key Requirements
- Have a proven experience in an administrative role, ideally within the construction industry.
- A strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (basic level minimum) as well as accounting software Dext and Sage.
- Basic understanding of the VAT and CIS processes and a willingness to develop those skills if required.
- Very good communication skills and confident and positive telephone manner.
- An ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, adapt to different priorities and to communicate within the office.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the building industry and associated trades or experience working with subcontractors.
- Reasonable proximity to Dorchester
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 866.00-1,300.00 per month
