Brooklands Museum is looking for an Office Administrator

Office Administrator

to provide essential administrative support across all departments, playing a vital role in the smooth day-to-day functioning of our iconic heritage site.


This is an excellent opportunity to work at the heart of Museum operations, supporting colleagues across operations, events, collections, marketing, and commercial teams. You will act as a central coordination point for administrative services, handling everything from meeting coordination and diary management to correspondence, database maintenance, and office management.


Every day brings variety--from scheduling meetings and producing minutes to managing office supplies, coordinating appointments, and liaising with external stakeholders. You'll work with a passionate team committed to preserving and sharing the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, contributing to an organization that welcomes around 180,000 visitors each year.

Working pattern:

Part time, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours can be flexible for the right candidate (office-based only). Some occasional weekend working required (approximately 3 times per year to support large-scale events with time off in lieu provided).

Salary:

13.47 per hour

What you'll be doing:



Scheduling and coordinating meetings, including producing accurate minutes and action logs Managing diaries, appointments, and travel arrangements for senior team members Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and fielding general museum communications Maintaining databases and spreadsheets with exceptional accuracy Managing office supplies, equipment, and efficient office systems Processing purchase orders and expense claims in liaison with the Finance Department Providing PA support and cover where required across the organization Building positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external stakeholders

What we're looking for:



Proven experience in an administrative or office support role Strong IT skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Excellent written communication skills with ability to compose professional correspondence Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize a busy workload and maintain exceptional attention to detail Experience handling confidential information with discretion Positive 'can do' attitude with willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities Exceptional interpersonal skills with calm, professional manner, especially under pressure
