Preserved Timber Products Ltd, based in Builth Road near Builth Wells, are looking for a temporary Office Assistant role covering maternity leave, focusing on Sage accounting software and general accounting tasks. The position is part-time, flexible, and requires a strong attention to detail, good communication, and experience with accounting software. The time scales for this maternity cover would be starting in September 2025 and ending July/August 2026.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Maintenance of sales ledger
Raising sales invoices, taking orders, processing income and dealing with queries
Credit control
Maintenance of the purchase ledger
Bank reconciliations
Maintaining spreadsheets
Managing the Reception area and welcoming customers
Managing correspondence - telephone calls, e-mails , letter and packages
Assisting in other ad hoc duties to assist the smooth running of the department
The Candidate ideally will have:
Strong understanding of the working of an office environment
Basic understanding of accountancy and book-keeping
Knowledge of SAGE Accounting software
Experience with Excel
Good interpersonal skills - to deal with customers and external contacts
Good organizational skills and ability to work to, and sometimes implement, own processes
