The Office Assistant will support the Racing Managers by ensuring the racing office function runs smoothly, carrying out administrative and other tasks as required.
Candidates would ideally have knowledge of or interest in greyhound racing, although full training will be provided for the right applicant.

Principal accountabilities and responsibilities
Help to run a busy Racing Office on a day-to-day basis, answer phones, take messages and deal with owners and trainers in a professional manner
Support Racing Manager and Assistant Racing Manager on administrative duties such as:
Updating the website with relevant race-meeting information, including advance cards and race results.
Ensure registrations are completed to satisfaction of GBGB, including "marking up", and are sent to the regulator in a timely fashion
Compiling weight sheet before racing, recording individual dog weights
Input races, trial and advance race cards into the racing office system, and print racecards, weight sheets and results for distribution on race days in a timely manner, and in sufficient numbers for customers
Accurate completion of greyhound race comments, recording race information including finishing order, bend positions, trap number, grade etc.
Develop good working relationship with stewards, trainers, kennel staff and the paddock team. Good knowledge of race days and times
Pro-actively help colleagues work together to maintain the highest standard of care for the greyhounds
Work as a paddock steward as required. Assist with kenneling of greyhounds at race meetings, manage identification, kenneling and sampling of greyhounds (full training will be provided)
Drive the hare at greyhound race meetings and trial sessions during sickness or annual leave (full training will be provided)
Qualifications & Experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
At least one year of experience in administrative or clerical role
Computer literate (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc)
Knowledge of social media and website management is advantageous
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure accuracy
Diligent with a high attention to detail, always ensuring accuracy in own work and the work of others
