We are an independent, local, family-run funeral directors serving our local community with care, dignity, and professionalism. We pride ourselves on offering a personal service tailored to each client's needs and are seeking an experienced Office Manager with funeral arranging experience to join our close-knit team.

The Role



This is a key position within our business, combining reception duties, office management and with funeral arranging responsibilities. The successful candidate will be compassionate, empathetic, highly organised and ideally experienced in supporting families/clients through funeral arrangements while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office. Often being the first point of contact for bereaved clients.

Key Responsibilities



Funeral Arranging



Meet with bereaved families to arrange funerals with sensitivity, professionalism, and empathy. Prepare funeral documentation, estimates, and invoices. Liaise with clergy, celebrants, cemeteries, crematoria, and third-party suppliers.

Office Management



Manage diaries and setting appointments. Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries professionally. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Manage invoicing, payments, and liaison with accounts/bookkeepers.

Skills & Experience Required



Knowledge of local funeral customs and practices & experience in funeral arranging. Experience in office management and administration. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Compassionate, calm, and professional manner. Competent with IT systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
