We are looking for an Officer to work within the in our NQ Assessment Arrangements team. This role will be ideal for someone who is committed to ensuring fairness for all.
Our team's primary role is to support learners who have additional support needs to access our National Qualifications. We also run a number of processes that ensure equality of access and fairness for learners. To do this we work closely with schools and colleges to understand learner needs and help deliver solutions that support the learner and protect the integrity of SQA assessments.
You will contribute to the effective planning and delivery of a range of these processes; and need to take a customer-centric approach in your work. You will also need to report effectively on progress and escalate concerns. To do this, you must be able to demonstrate relevant experience of:
Identifying requirements, and prioritising effectively and ensuring that multiple tasks are completed accurately and to deadline
Supervising and supporting individuals to help them to be effective contributors in the team
Communicating in writing, or verbally, to a high standard, and being able to respond empathetically to complex information and sensitive situations
Building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer service
Contributing to change initiatives in relation to continuous improvement activities and development projects
Producing documentation to support the effective delivery of procedures
Additionally, you must:
Be IT literate and willing to learn to operate SQA's internal IT systems
Ability to manage a varied workload with multiple tasks requiring attention at the same time
Be able to understand and carry out basic numerical and or financial calculations and analyse data
Work well in a team, under pressure and in a busy environment
Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 6 (Higher/SVQ3) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
