Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ofsted-registered manager to lead our 4-bedroom children's home, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare, with proven leadership in regulated settings. This role demands a deep commitment to safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and delivering high-quality care that promotes stability, development, and positive outcomes for every child.

The Registered Manager will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations, including the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, while fostering a nurturing and empowering environment for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring all care practices meet regulatory and safeguarding standards. Develop, implement, and regularly review individual care plans and risk assessments tailored to each child's needs, voice, and aspirations. Supervise, mentor, and support staff, promoting a culture of reflective practice, continuous learning, and trauma-informed care. Ensure robust safeguarding procedures are embedded and followed, including incident reporting, whistleblowing, and child protection protocols. Maintain effective communication with children, families, social workers, and external agencies to ensure a multi-agency approach to care. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care through audits, feedback, and internal reviews, implementing improvements where needed. Lead Ofsted inspection readiness and respond to inspection outcomes with clear action planning. Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring the physical environment is safe, welcoming, and conducive to therapeutic care.

Skills & Experience



Proven experience managing in an Ofsted-regulated children's home. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). In-depth understanding of safeguarding legislation, child development, and trauma-informed approaches. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff in emotionally demanding environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, professionals, and families. Ability to develop and implement care plans that reflect the child's voice and promote positive outcomes. High level of organisational and compliance awareness, with experience in preparing for Ofsted inspections. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of care and leadership.

Pay: 55,800.00-60,000.00 per year
