Biosus Energy Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and skilled On Call Plant Operator to join our dynamic team. As a Plant Operator you will contribute to the efficient operation of distributed onsite power generation equipment which we have located on our customers sites. Following a detailed planned maintenance programme you ensure the plant is operating peak efficiency and optimum availability. You will be an integral part of our mission to accelerate the transition to clean and renewable energy sources.
Role Overview:
Biosus Energy has positions for an on call plant operator for a combined heat and power (CHP) generation system in Perth.
This role may suit retired tradesmen / engineers looking for some part time work or even oil and gas workers looking for work to fill their time when onshore.
The successful candidate would be expected to commit to make planned site visits, and to cover weekends and weekday evenings throughout the year. Minimum working hours will be 20 hours per week but more when required.
Responsibilities:
Attending site every day mornings Monday through to Friday
Work week Mon - Fri mornings
Respond to call out's remotely or attend site if required evenings and weekends
Call outs should be responded to within 30 minutes
When onsite, attendance must be logged via the uAttend mobile app
Ensuring you are fit to drive and work responsibly with machinery when you are on call
Keeping the workplace tidy and safe for all employees.
General Duties Will Include:
Carrying out scheduled PMs when attending site
Being part of the annual shutdown if required
Monitor plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems
Start or stop generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, or other plant equipment as necessary
Control or maintain auxiliary equipment such as: pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, filters, fuel, lubricants, air, or auxiliary power
Clean, lubricate, or maintain equipment such as: generators, pumps, or compressors to prevent failure or deterioration.
Record and compile operational data by completing and maintaining forms, logs or reports
Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints
Essential Skills (please only apply if you meet this criteria):
Mechanical and electrical experience
Operations and maintenance background
Computer literate - use of Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
Good communication skills
Valid driving license
Desirable Skills:
Good knowledge and understanding of CHP technologies
Plumbing experience
Power plant experience
