Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Travel and Tourism Tutor to join our online adult learning team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in tourism management, hospitality, aviation, or global business, who enjoys inspiring adult learners preparing for university study or career progression in the travel and tourism sector.

Our Access to Higher Education Diploma in Travel and Tourism is a coursework-based qualification (no exams) designed to help learners progress to higher education or professional roles in areas such as international tourism management, event planning, aviation operations, hospitality management, or sustainable tourism development.

The course covers key subject areas including:

The structure of the travel and tourism industry Global destinations and cultural awareness Sustainable and responsible tourism Marketing and customer service in tourism Business and management for tourism Academic and research skills for higher education
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging online tutorial sessions (starting at 2 hours per week, with scope to increase) Provide high-quality feedback on assignments and coursework Offer one-to-one academic support and mentoring to students as needed Help learners develop study and research skills, including academic writing and critical thinking Ensure lessons are recorded or materials made available for flexible, self-paced study Track student engagement and progress, liaising with programme coordinators when required
What We're Looking For

A degree or professional qualification in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, Business Management, or a closely related field Experience teaching or mentoring adult learners (online experience highly desirable) Strong understanding of current industry trends, sustainability issues, and global tourism operations Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently from a quiet, professional home environment Commitment to the full academic year to ensure continuity for learners
Additional Information

Pay: 30 per lesson (rate includes preparation and marking time). Additional one-to-one sessions or assessments can be invoiced at the same rate. Contract: Self-employed (you will manage your own tax obligations). Duration: Full academic year commitment required. Location: Remote / Work from home with flexible scheduling.
