About The Role

As an Online Tutor for our MA User Experience Research module, part of the esteemed Games Academy, your responsibilities will include linking academic principles to practical scenarios. Your insights and expertise will be invaluable in equipping students with the essential tools in the field of human-computer interaction.

Online Tutors are vital to the success and vibrancy of our online courses. They are a constant presence in the module, the first point of contact for students' academic enquiries and supporting their learning activities.
As the Online Tutor you will deliver live sessions such as webinars, workshops or tutorials each week to a cohort of students. Around these live sessions you will be responsible for topic discussions, and academic guidance via emails, one to ones and an online learning space. You will work closely with the course leader and module leaders to ensure best possible student experience.
The hours for this role are flexible and spread throughout the week as agreed by your line manager. The flexibility of this role means that you can fit the hours around existing responsibilities. The role compliments individuals who have freelance careers or other teaching commitments. Each online tutor is responsible for no more than 30 students, making this an extremely rewarding role.
The Online Tutor for this module will be allocated 160 hours to support up to 30 students with learning, assessment and feedback, working September 2025 to January 2026.
About You
Educated to degree level, or having equivalent industry experience, the ideal candidate will have experience in working with groups of students from diverse backgrounds at HE level.
You will have evidence of professional visual arts practice and a demonstrable engagement with, and interest in, the dialogues, debates and concepts surrounding contemporary arts and culture. Previous experience teaching online would also be an advantage. You will be well organised, have excellent communication skills, and the commitment to deliver an excellent online learning experience for students.
We are looking to hear from candidates who also have the following skills/experience:

• Have experience and understanding of online education methods.
• Good professional ties within the UX industry and or Higher Education.
• Experience mentoring or teaching at a university or a similar level.
• Proficiency in digital tools and a high standard of communication.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and effective presentation abilities.

Due to the online nature of this role, it can be worked remotely, however the successful candidate must be based within the UK and be able to start in September 2025.
