About the Role

Pinnacle Path Logistics, a new Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP), is launching operations in October 2025. We are seeking a

hands-on Onsite Manager

to lead our daily depot operations, driver management, and compliance.

This role is an

independent contractor position

- you will be responsible for your own tax, National Insurance, and insurance cover. You will not be an employee of Pinnacle Path Logistics but will play a critical leadership role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

At launch, the role will require a

minimum of 6 days per week

to embed processes, recruit and train drivers, and establish operational stability. Over time, as the DSP matures, the workload may reduce, though flexibility will remain essential.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Act as the lead decision-maker onsite, ensuring depot operations run smoothly in the DSP Owner's absence. Oversee driver check-in/out, parcel loading, route allocation, and end-of-day reconciliation. Use Amazon systems (Rabbit, Relay, Mentor, Scorecard dashboards) to monitor live performance.

Driver & Workforce Management

Recruit, train, and supervise drivers to meet Amazon's standards. Provide on-road support and coaching; escalate performance and welfare issues. Ensure compliance with UK Working Time Regulations and driver safety obligations.

Fleet & Compliance Oversight

Coordinate with fleet management to confirm vehicles are roadworthy and compliant. Oversee twice-daily van inspections, incident reporting, and insurance claims. Ensure legal, Amazon, and health & safety requirements are consistently met.

Performance & Reporting

Track KPIs daily: on-time delivery, Fantastic+, DA1/DA2, safety metrics. Produce daily/weekly reports for the DSP Owner, identifying trends and risks. Lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For

Minimum 3 years' experience

in logistics, transport, fleet management, or last-mile delivery (Amazon DSP experience desirable). Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and solve problems under pressure. Strong knowledge of

DVSA, HSE, UK GDPR, and Working Time Regulations

. Excellent IT literacy - confident using logistics software and Microsoft Office. A practical leader: able to balance compliance, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Desirable:

CPC in Transport Management, IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or Amazon DSP experience.

Contract & Commercial Terms

Independent Contractor Agreement

- you are responsible for your own tax and NI contributions. Expected minimum

6 days per week during start-up phase

(including weekends). Competitive daily rate (negotiable, dependent on experience). Potential for performance-based incentives as the DSP scales. Opportunity to develop a long-term partnership with the DSP Owner in shaping the business.
