Job Description

Angelcare are looking for warm, flexible and person centered carers to join the team and provide support to individuals in Halifax and the surrounding area, as the position involves traveling to peoples houses, all candidates must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business use.



The role of a Domiciliary Care Worker can be hard work but is very rewarding. The ideal carer will be someone who is genuinely interested in caring for others, kind, sympathetic and patient. Angelcare's domiciliary care workers primarily support individuals who wish to maintain their own independence whilst continuing to live in their own home.

The individual will require help with over night cares, this will include personal cares, medication. This is mainly palliative care for people who are coming towards their last stages in life.

This specific contract is paid in block. The contract start time is 22:00 - 06:00 am. This may change with increase demand in over night care for people in Calderdale.

Week 1 Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Week 2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Additional shifts and overtime available.

You will promote choice and well being to ensure individuals enjoy a good quality of care to support their life choices and needs.

Pay will be discussed on interview.

Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role involves working closely with patients in their homes or care facilities, offering personalised care tailored to their specific needs.

Duties



Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to care plans. Support clients with mobility and physical activities as needed. Engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities to promote mental well-being. Monitor and document changes in clients' health status, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and their families. Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment. Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.

Skills



Strong understanding of patient care principles, including dementia care and hospice care. Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to follow care plans accurately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and families. Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and compassion in all interactions. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documenting care provided. Capability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple responsibilities. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
