Operational Buyer

at Howden Compressors, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth ordering and expediting of goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and delivery requirements. You'll also provide valuable operational support to our Strategic Purchasing Team, contributing to the success of our procurement operations. What will you do?

Placing and control PO progress directly with suppliers according purchasing schedule

Using negotiation, influencing techniques and effective communication to maintain and establish relationships with new or existing suppliers to ensure positive results.

Manage Post award commercial issues with support from Strategic Purchasing Team.

Revise purchasing schedules when required due to design changes, labour or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions.

Maintain purchase orders with suppliers to meet the requirements of the schedule in accordance with procedures.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and suppliers

What do you bring?

Knowledge of production and logistics processes

Relevant experience in sourcing

Strong interpersonal skills

Pragmatic, no-nonsense approach

Good communication skills, written and verbal

Ability to multi-task and prioritise work

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems

Competent in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Project & Power Point
