We are entering an exciting phase of growth and improvement, and we are looking for an experienced Operations Director to lead our operational services with purpose and professionalism.

The role



As Operations Director, you will provide strategic leadership across all operational areas including housing management, repairs and maintenance, compliance, tenancy sustainment, and resident services. You will ensure we meet regulatory standards, deliver efficient and effective services, and create a culture where staff and tenants feel valued and respected. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will play a key role in shaping our future direction.

Key responsibilities



Lead and strengthen day-to-day operations across housing, repairs, compliance, and asset management. Ensure full compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing's Consumer Standards, Health & Safety legislation, and property compliance requirements (gas, electric, fire safety, etc.). Improve tenant satisfaction, communication, and service delivery across all operational functions. Manage departmental budgets, ensuring value for money and effective use of resources. Oversee contractor performance and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Lead and support operational teams, fostering a positive culture focused on accountability, collaboration and resident wellbeing. Embed clear KPIs, processes and performance frameworks to ensure continuous improvement. Drive innovation and operational excellence to support long-term organisational sustainability.

About you



We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced senior leader in housing, social care, local authority, or other regulated operational settings. Strong on compliance, governance, and operational process design. Able to communicate clearly and compassionately with staff, tenants and partners. Driven by social purpose, fairness and integrity. Skilled at problem-solving and calm under pressure. Able to motivate and develop teams while holding high standards. Confident working with data, KPIs and operational systems. Experienced in managing repairs, asset management and contractor relationships.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-60,000.00 per year
