The Impact You'll Make
We are recruiting an essential team member to serve as our
Operational Night Security Worker
. Based in Portsmouth, this role is critical to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of residents and premises within our homeless projects throughout Hampshire during night hours.
Your work will be varied and vital, covering security and operational needs across multiple sites. After an initial paid training period in Southampton, you will be primarily based in Portsmouth but will regularly visit our projects across the county.
Key Responsibilities:
Security & Safety:
Actively monitor and operate CCTV systems, manage Health & Safety compliance, and ensure overall resident security.
Conflict Resolution:
Proactively manage and address anti-social behaviour and resident conflicts as they arise.
Emergency Liaison:
Serve as the primary point of contact for and coordinate with emergency services.
Operational Support:
Conduct regular site visits across Hampshire to provide necessary overnight support.
Working Pattern:
This is a night shift role following an attractive
4 nights on and 4 nights off
rolling rota, providing excellent dedicated rest time.
Who We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be professional, reliable, and possess a calm temperament when dealing with challenging situations.
Essential Qualities and Skills:
Experience:
Proven, substantial experience working directly with
vulnerable people
(e.g., in housing, care, or support settings).
Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, for documentation and professional interaction.
Driving:
A
clean, valid manual driving licence
that has been held for a minimum of
3 years
(This is essential for travel between projects).
IT Literacy:
Competency in using a computer, including familiarity with
Microsoft Word and Excel
.
Desirable (Skills that would be a benefit):
SIA Security Licence.
SIA CCTV Licence.
Previous professional experience in a security or similar safeguarding environment.
