The Role:




This role within the Operational Planning and Transformation team is responsible for designing timetable and operational resource plans for industrial action, extreme weather, significant special events and major ongoing disruption outside business-as-usual. The role will lead the interaction with other business functions and external partners on activities in the scope of this specialist role to propose plans to key stakeholders. The role is responsible for bidding these timetable plans to Network Rail and for producing the resource plans ensuring they are resilient, compliant, accurate, efficient with all identified risks mitigated.

The Duties:



To propose and produce timetable and resource plans that conform to engineering access, timetable planning rules / timescales and contingent resource constraints to meet customer demand / safety and stakeholder and commercial objectives for industrial action events. To propose, produce and maintain for each permanent timetable change extreme weather timetable and resource plans that conform to route restrictions - likely to be imposed by Network Rail, timetable planning rules / timescales and resource constraints to meet customer demand / safety and stakeholder objectives. To propose and produce timetable and resource plans that conform to engineering access, timetable planning rules / timescales and resource constraints to meet customer demand / safety and commercial / stakeholder objectives for significant special events and major ongoing disruption outside the business-as-usual capabilities of the Control. To provide subject matter expert advice and guidance on timetable and resource planning for industrial action, extreme weather and special events to internal functions or external meetings and forums. To produce and maintain a database of industrial action, extreme weather and significant special event timetable and resource plans to enable key business decisions to be made on plan implementation. To engage with Fleet functions to ensure revised rolling stock resource plans for industrial action, extreme weather, significant special events and ongoing major disruption comply with stock utilisation rules and balance in / out of business-as-usual timetables and resourcing plans. To engage with Resource functions to ensure revised train crew resource plans for industrial action, extreme weather, significant special events and ongoing major disruption comply with train crew rules / allowances and balance in / out of business-as-usual timetables and resourcing plans. To engage with Network Rail Capacity Planning Specialists and other TOC specialists to optimise timetables for industrial action, extreme weather, significant special events and ongoing major disruption. To upload, circulate and publish timetables and resource plans for industrial action, extreme weather, significant special events and ongoing major disruption in accordance with company processes, timescales, and systems. To engage with the Control function to ensure timetables and resource plans created outside of normal train planning timescales can be implemented successfully to deliver plan-of-the-day. To deputise for the Amended Services Team Leader by leading the Amended Services team's delivery of the amended
