EmTech Hatchery Systems design, manufacture & install a range of specialist incubation machines for the poultry industry, selling worldwide, with a reputation for quality.

EmTech offer an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business operating within the mechanical & electronics engineering industry. Due to continued success & growth, we now require an Operations Administrator to join our busy Production department.

The Operations Administrator will provide essential administrative and system support to the manufacturing team, ensuring the efficient flow of production activities and accurate management of work orders. The role is responsible for maintaining and updating the company's MRP system, coordinating production schedules, managing staff holiday planning, and assisting with day-to-day operational documentation.

This position requires strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with production, planning, procurement, and quality departments to maintain smooth operations across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, issue, and close production work orders within the MRP system in line with production schedules and demand forecasts. Monitor work order progress and ensure timely updates and accurate data entry in the MRP system. Collaborate with production planners to manage capacity and ensure resource availability. Track and report production performance metrics, including output, scrap, downtime, and efficiency. Coordinate and manage production staff holiday schedules to maintain adequate coverage and workflow continuity. Assist at Gemba walks, recording key actions, and following up on progress. Liaise with procurement and stores teams to ensure material availability for scheduled production. Provide general administrative support to the production, customer service departments, including document control and correspondence.
Skills & Qualifications:

Desirable:

Previous experience in a production/operations administration, planning, or coordination role within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in using MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Cim or similar). Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Confident in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy production setting. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflow management. Experience with capacity planning or production scheduling. Understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or 5S principles.
