Job Description

As an Operations Assistant, you'll support the Group Operations Manager in a variety of areas, including logistics, compliance, health & safety, and administration. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across departments, solving problems, and keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes.

Salary:

30,000 - 34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Type & Hours:

Full time/ Permanent/ Monday - Friday, 8am - 5.30pm (1hr for lunch).

Location:

Kendal Depot (LA7 7FP) or Bispham Green Depot (L40 3SB)

Main Responsibilities:



Coordinate and schedule haulage and transport across the business. Support the Group Operations Manager with health & safety compliance and company-wide operational procedures. Monitor and help maintain company vehicle records (e.g. MOTs, servicing, insurance). Liaise with third-party contractors or service providers (e.g. waste management, utilities). Assist with maintaining company operational policies, risk assessments and forms. Assist with maintaining accurate records relating to legal and regulatory requirements. Gather operational data and compile reports for internal use and audits Support with general administration tasks in a timely and organised manner. Help maintain systems and documentation to support continuous improvement of operations procedures.

Attributes we are looking for:



Previous experience in an operations or logistics role would be highly desirable but not essential. Previous experience in an administrative/support role is essential. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with both our internal teams and external suppliers. Proactive and organised work ethic, with the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise tasks, and effectively handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong IT skills, including familiarity with standard IT software and applications, including Excel spreadsheets.
