Healthy Hyde Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a highly organised and motivated individual with a strong background in HR compliance to take on the role of Operations Assistant.
This is a key leadership role within the PCN, responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of services across our practices and multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will oversee clinic operations, workforce planning, governance, and compliance, while supporting our commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.
Working closely with the PCN Clinical Director, PCN Manager, GP practices, and partner organisations, the post holder will ensure that services run safely, efficiently, and in line with NHS and regulatory requirements. They will also play an active role in developing staff, driving service improvements, and contributing to the future strategy of Healthy Hyde PCN.

Job Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of clinics and staffing allocations across Healthy Hyde Primary Care Network (PCN), ensuring safe, effective, and efficient service delivery. They will support the PCN management team through oversight of workforce, governance, compliance, and communication functions, while contributing to the strategic development of PCN services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Oversight
Oversight of service delivery to ensure clinics run efficiently and effectively.
Monitoring KPIs, waiting times, and patient flow.
Implementing contingency planning for staff shortages, sickness, or unexpected demand.
2. Staff & Workforce Development
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new staff.
Acting as first point of contact for staff wellbeing and performance concerns.
Arranging and coordinating monthly staff training sessions.
3. Governance & Compliance
Writing and updating policies in line with best practice and regulatory standards.
Oversight of safeguarding, health & safety, and infection prevention audits.
Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with data protection legislation (GDPR).
4. Communication & Stakeholder Management
Preparing reports, presentations, and updates for PCN leadership and external stakeholders.
Ensuring effective internal communications via bulletins, team briefings, and updates.
5. Risk & Incident Management
Carrying out risk assessments to ensure safe working practices.
Recording, investigating, and escalating incidents or complaints in line with policy.
Leading on action plans and lessons learned from incidents.
Collating and reporting significant event audits.
6. Strategic Support
Assisting senior management in the development and delivery of long-term service plans.
Supporting preparation of business cases, bids, and project implementation.

The post holder will be expected to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including but not limited to:
Internal (Healthy Hyde PCN):
PCN Clinical Director, PCN Manager, Operations Manager and PCN Board.
GP partners and practice managers within Hyde practices.
PCN multidisciplinary team (Health & Wellbeing Coaches, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedic Practitioners, Care Coordinators, Social Prescribers, etc.).
Practice administration and reception staff.
External:
Tameside GP Federation (management, administrative, and governance support).
NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board (ICB) leads and commissioners.
Tameside Integrated Care Foundation Trust
Local voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
Local authority services (public health, adult social care, children's services).
Secondary care and community providers (e.g., Tameside & Glossop IC NHS FT).
Patients, carers, and community representatives.
