Introduction to the role of the team




Working within Leeds City Venues alongside programming and technical teams, the candidate will be responsible for helping with the day to day running of a busy venue.



Your role




To help and assist the operations team in the day to day running of events, always ensuring the highest standards of customer care and providing support and satisfaction for users of the Council public performance venues. You will be required to work across the portfolio of venues, currently Leeds Town Hall, Carriageworks Theatre, and Pudsey Civic Hall, along with any additional venues in the future. Currently this post is based at the Carriageworks Theatre.


Responsibilities




To set up for all events and provide support to hirers, responding to requests for assistance in a prompt and appropriate manner, throughout Leeds CC venues. Unlocking and locking of the building as needed, including setting of alarms. To maintain a clean, welcoming and safe environment. To provide the same for all professional and amateur companies, commercial and other ad hoc users of LCC venues. To work closely with the technical Team and other Arts, Events & Venues Teams, to assist in the preparation of all areas for meetings, conferences, and events. To adhere to all relevant current legislation and to undertake the duties of the post in accordance with the Council Policies e.g. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Green Strategy, Health & Safety Legislation, etc.
As a member of the operations team, you will be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills. You will be a confident communicator with a can-do approach.




You will be knowledgeable and personable. You will be enthusiastic and motivated, giving the same level of drive and energy into all tasks, and providing a first-class experience to everyone coming through Leeds CC venues.

Job purpose




To assist the operations team in the day to day running off the venue. To provide support and satisfaction for users of the council public performance spaces and meeting rooms. You may be required to work across the portfolio of venues, currently Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds Town Hall and Pudsey Civic Hall, along with any additional venues in the future. Currently this post is based at The Carriageworks Theatre.


Responsibilities



To set up for all events and provide support to hirers as appropriate throughout, responding to requests for assistance in a prompt and professional manner. To include assisting with the setting up and serving of any catering options. Ensure, by means of an ongoing hands-on contribution, that the highest standards of customer service are always delivered to all clients and users. Unlocking the building and locking up at close of business. Setting of alarms, reporting any faults to the alarm company and the Operations manager or supervisor. The post holder will be a nominated callout person in the event of out of hours alarm activation. Security of the building, patrol duties, attendant and door person duties during public functions. To assist with any trips to the bank, as required. To maintain a clean, welcoming and safe environment both internally and externally. To include but not limited to, general cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of the building, litter collection and moving refused t0 the bin area and to take in and put away any deliveries. To allow access to authorised persons as directed by management e.g. Contractors Ensuring they adhere to codes of practice. To carry out designated duties in the event of an evacuation of the premises. In the absence from site of all members of the operations management team, being responsible for ensuring the relevant Emergency Evacuations Procedures are followed (especially during night shifts when the public are not in the building). To Undertake any other relevant duties as requested by the operations management. Participate in training and development activities as necessary to ensure up to date knowledge and skills. To undertake the duties of the post in accordance with the councils' policies e.g. Equal Opportunities, Health and safety Legislation, etc.

Essential requirements

It is essential that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post. Candidates will only be shortlisted for interview if they can demonstrate that they meet all the essential requirements.


A good standard of basic education i.e. Maths and English. Able to work flexibly across different work locations and areas as appropriate. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Basic computer skills.
