Role Purpose
Based at our Workshop in Syston, Leicestershire, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, the Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of the production and logistics functions. This position ensures that materials, components, and finished goods are efficiently received, accurately recorded, safely stored, and dispatched on time to support production and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Goods In / Inventory Control
Receive and check all incoming deliveries of materials and components against purchase orders.
Record goods received accurately in the system, maintaining full traceability.
Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery discrepancies or damages.
Organise and maintain stock locations for efficient access and accurate stock levels.
Support routine stocktakes and inventory audits.
Goods Out / Dispatch
Prepare, package, and dispatch finished goods according to customer and internal orders.
Generate dispatch notes, courier documentation, and shipping labels.
Coordinate with logistics and commercial teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
Operational Support
Work closely with the production team to ensure material availability for scheduled work.
Monitor stock levels and flag shortages or delays to relevant departments.
Assist in improving goods flow, traceability, and warehouse organisation processes.
Support adherence to quality and health & safety standards throughout all operations.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing support roles.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confident using IT systems (Microsoft Excel, inventory or ERP/MRP systems).
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Reliable, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of luxury manufacturing processes or materials (advantageous).
